By chance, I found myself in Poole, Dorset this June, visiting family. One Tuesday evening, my cousin - also a keen rider with a garage full of enviable classics - suggested a trip down to Poole Quay. I had no idea what to expect, but what I discovered was a true motorcycling gem.

A Weekly Celebration of Two Wheels

Every Tuesday during the summer months, Poole Quay transforms into a vibrant gathering place for motorcyclists. To my surprise, this is no informal meet-up—it's a well-organised event, complete with marshals and a modest £3 entrance fee for riders. The entire quay area is lined with pubs, cafes, and restaurants, making it the perfect setting for a summer evening out.

Bikes of Every Breed

Hundreds of motorcycles filled the streets, from vintage classics to cutting-edge machines. It was a visual feast for any bike lover. The variety was staggering - café racers, cruisers, sport bikes, tourers, customs - you name it, it was there.

As the bikes rolled in, it felt like an informal parade, each one drawing admiring looks and conversations. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, with bikers from all walks of life stopping to chat and share stories.

Beer, Sunshine, and Brotherhood

The weather was ideal - sunny and warm, hovering in the mid-20s°C. There’s something

truly unbeatable about holding a cold beer, soaking up the late evening sun, and chatting with fellow riders. It was an unexpected highlight of my trip and a reminder of why I love this community so much.
